Parking fine is completely fair

In what way is the fine received by Mr Hope (Outrage over '˜unjust' parking permit charge - p7 of your July 22 edition) unjust?

If Mr Hope’s parking permit had expired then it is quite right that he was fined for continuing to park without it. It is his own responsibility to ensure it is renewed.

Does he need a reminder to put his trousers on before he leaves his house in the morning?

He should grow up and take responsibility for managing his own affairs, rather than throwing a tantrum about being penalised for not renewing his own parking arrangements.

He should also consider himself lucky that the fine was cancelled - and perhaps use the money saved to buy himself a diary to make his own reminders in future.
