Owners of '˜stolen' Mr Cheeky hope for a Christmas miracle
The owners of a ginger cat captured on CCTV being taken from outside his home in Hove, have offered £300 for any information that leads police to the perpetrators.
Mr Cheeky went missing on the evening of Sunday, December 4 from Brunswick Street East. CCTV taken of the road at 11.52pm appears to show the cat being stolen.
Sussex Police has said officers would like to speak to the two people caught on camera, who made off with the cat.
Mr Cheeky’s owner Ollie Wilson said: “While we have had an overwhelming response from neighbours and fellow cat lovers offering to help and a number of tip-offs (one of which resulted in another ginger cat missing for three months being reunited with their owners), we feel the time has come for an extra push as we need a Christmas miracle.”
Investigating Officer Zoe Ayres said: “Mr Cheeky is micro-chipped and is missed dearly by his owners. We are appealing to anyone who might recognise the man or the woman or have information as to the location of his whereabouts.
“I would also like to appeal to the people in the video as our main priority is to get Mr Cheeky back safe with his owners. He is probably very distressed being away from his normal surroundings and it is obviously very upsetting for his owners.”
