THE QUEEN’S 90TH BIRTHDAY: To celebrate the occasion The Parish Council, on behalf of the residents of Peasmarsh sent a specially designed birthday card depicting scenes from Peasmarsh. We have now received a reply in the form of a card of thanks from the Queen and a personal letter from her lady-in-waiting, and a copy of these will be displayed on the three noticeboards in the village for all residents to see.

FILM CLUB: Friday 14th October at 7.30 pm. Film is Black Book. Regrettably only film club members can be admitted to this showing due to the terms of the film screening licence. If you’d like to become a member for only £20 per year for 10 films, then contact Hilary on 01797 230205.

Attic and Collectors’ Fair: Sunday 16th October from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. Refreshments available and admission is free. This is the start of the regular monthly Autumn and Winter Fairs.

Saturday 22nd October: Fine Art and Print Exhibition 11.00 am to 4.00 pm and Sunday 23rd from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. This is a great opportunity to purchase interesting original artwork, quality prints and cards by local artists, so why not come along and perhaps buy an early Christmas present for that special person in your life.

OCTOBER SOCCER SCHOOL: Football on the Recreation Ground during October half-term following on from the highly successful summer activity scheme on the Recreation Ground, which was funded by Peasmarsh Parish Council and run by Bourne Sports Association for primary age school children from Peasmarsh, and including children from Beckley and Playden primary schools, it is proposed to hold football activities on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October for 5-13 year old boys and girls. The cost is £30 per child and Peasmarsh Parish Council has negotiated a 50% reduction on this price for children from Peasmarsh. This reduced rate is only available to parents living in Peasmarsh.

Seasonal produce will be for sale in church porches from 9.30-11.00 on Sunday mornings, all money raised to go to church funds. Please feel free to bring along any excess produce you may have, together with some small change to make purchases.

PEASMARSH VILLAGE SIGN: Residents are invited to submit their ideas for a design to encourage a broader community involvement. The design should symbolise Peasmarsh, its history and environment, and include the Peasmarsh Panther. The closing date for entries is the 15th November, and they can either be emailed to [email protected], or posted in the Memorial Hall post box. If you are interested in becoming involved in this project or would like more information, then contact Councillor Celia Pollington via the Parish Clerk, email [email protected].
