LUNCH CLUB : The Hall Committee is happy to be able to announce that the Monday Lunch Club will be starting again on Monday October 27 with new caterers.The cost of lunch remains at £5.50 and the menu for the first Monday will be Cheese-topped Cottage Pie with garden peas and gravy. (Vegetarian option will be Cheese-topped quorn cottage pie) followed by sticky toffee pudding with a drizzle of toffee sauce. The meal will be served at 1.00pm. Please book your meal with Jenny Als (230324) by Saturday October 25 at the latest.The future of the Lunch Club will depend on your support. Last year’s regulars enjoyed excellent meals combined with a relaxed, happy social occasion. If you haven’t been before, why not come and try it out? If you have special dietary needs (other than vegetarian) please contact a member of the Hall team, and not the caterers.

BINGO: The Lunch Club on Monday 27 will be followed by another Bingo session as advertised, if you aren’t attending the Lunch Club please arrive for the Bingo at 2.30pm.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL : Last call for this year’s Shoebox Appeal by the charity Link to Hope - if you can fill a shoebox with things such as soap, shampoo, combs, socks, crayons, colouring books etc. your gift would bring such happiness to some poor families in Romania, Moldova, Albania,Bulgaria and the Ukraine. To support this appeal please contact Sue Cavilla on 230431 - you can also contact Sue to arrange collection if required; shoeboxes need to be ready by this Sunday, October 26.

TRICK OR TREAT : Only a week now until Halloween, lots of fun, sweets and dressing up for the children (and me!). Please keep safe while you are out trick or treating, and try not to disturb those who might get nervous or anxious if a ghost knocks on their door!

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The next Parish Council Meeting will take place in the meeting room at the hall on Tuesday, November 4 at 7.30pm. In May next year there will be elections for new parish councils. If you think you might be interested in standing for the council, why not come to the meeting and find out what goes on.

QUIZ NIGHT : The next Quiz Night at the hall will be on Saturday November 8, 7.30pm.

PEASMARSH CHRISTMAS SANTA : I don’t know of any other village that has their own personal Santa, we are very lucky in Peasmarsh! If you would like your child or children to receive a door knock and gift from Santa and his elves this year please wrap a small present with your child’s name on and deliver it to Kelly Cosens at 14 The Old Hop Gardens with a £5.00 donation per family. All money raised will be going to three very deserving charities.

CHURCH NEWS: This Saturday you are invited to come and help with a big “autumn-clean” and polish at the church, starting at 11am. Come and help us make our beautiful ancient church look its best. There will be coffee and biscuits on offer. The Family Service this Sunday will be at Beckley Church at 10am, all welcome.
