Artworks signed by Fatboy Slim to be sold in aid of Hove Lagoon

Four paintings signed by DJ Fatboy Slim are to be auctioned off to raise funds for Hove Lagoon.

The artworks created by Brighton street artist Martin Middleton, known as Cassette Lord, will go under the hammer tomorrow (Friday, November 8) from 10am at Brighton and Hove Auctions, in Woodingdean.

Norman Cook signed the pieces at this year’s LagoonFest on September 7 and funds raised will help Friends of Hove Lagoon create a new planting scheme at the site.

One of the four works is also signed by Norman Cook’s daughter Nelly.

Secretary of Friends of Hove Lagoon Sue Johnson said: “We love the murals that Cassette Lord has painted for us and we are so incredibly thankful to him for donating them and also to Norman and Nelly Cook for signing them.

“They’re really special and we hope that they will create a real buzz at the auction.”

She added: “The funds raised through this auction will go directly to creating a new planting scheme at the Lagoon which we hope will soften and improve the landscape, as well as attract more people and wildlife to this much-loved area.”

The paintings are sized 120cm by 60cm and bids can be taken at the auction house on Warren Road or online by a live webcast.
