Police donate cash to Brighton Food Bank

A food bank in Brighton was handed a £900 donation by Sussex Police.

The money from the Police Property Act Fund will be used to pay for extra shelving and cold storage of the food at the premises run by Brighton and Hove City Mission in Stanley Road.

The food bank helps 25 people a day, offering not only food but other support and advice.

The Police Property Act Fund is made up of cash received by the police from the sale of confiscated property.

The money is then redistributed to support community projects and charitable organisations.
