Eastbourne firefighters tackle blaze at Hailsham care home

A fire broke out at a care home in Hailsham this afternoon (Friday, August 11).

Firefighters from Eastbourne attended the scene at Abbots Wood Manor Care Home, in London Road, after receiving reports.

Crews were at the scene for almost two hours.

A spokesperson for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) said: “We were called at 3.50pm to London Road, Hailsham to reports of a fire. Two fire appliances from Eastbourne attended.

“Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to fight the fire. No casualties and the crews left the scene at 5.15pm.”
