With the majority of the country on lockdown and vulnerable groups facing many more weeks at home, a large group of people will continue to need help with tasks or deliveries.

Swishd is a new request app which has launched across the Brighton and Hove region where users can ask or offer help. Unlike some delivery or help apps, charging a fee is optional and locals can just give a little time to help vulnerable people in their area.

Swishd, originally built to help connect the millions of parcels being sent each day, now aims to be a lockdown lifesaver.

Jat Wasu founder of Swishd commented: “There are many acts of kindness and support happening across the country, but some people still might be struggling to get essential items they need. Our aim is to help at a local level to connect people who need help with those keen to do their bit.

“It could be as simple as grabbing a few extra items from a supermarket when you do your shop and dropping them off to a neighbour in need.

“There has never been a greater need for us to connect with our local neighbours and support those in need. Swishd aims to give easy access to people in your area willing to lend a helping hand.

“Our people-powered delivery app is launching early to connect local communities, starting in Brighton. We have been building the Swishd app since 2019 with the plan to launch to help people get a little help when they need it.

“Obviously, we’re now launching our new app in a time where many people want to offer help or are in need to get essential products. We’re not affiliated with any brands, retailers or product types, so communities can ask for any type of help.
