Rottingdean’s Whiteway Centre had its most successful year yet

A hub for community events, education and leisure courses is celebrating after having had its most successful year since it was founded more than forty years ago.

The Whiteway Centre, which was built in 1974 on the grounds of a local Georgian house after a huge fundraising drive, has attracted a record number of record number of students attending once of its many courses including archaeology, IT, painting, Italian, Spanish, astronomy and stained glass.

The venue, which is run by volunteers, also hosts many other activities such as Bridge and Yoga, and its newly refurbished kitchen and hall have accommodated weddings, anniversaries and public meetings.

Rottingdean’s Whiteway Centre is currently looking for a treasurer to help carry its success forward.
