Rustington woman takes over at Lodge Hill

THE outdoor activities centre Lodge Hill, near Pulborough, has appoined a Rustington woman as its new chief executive.

Lisa Hill takes over from Paul (Skip) McNeill, who retired last year.

She has lived in Rustington since 2011 and for the past decade has been with the Sussex Autistic Society, joining as head of family services and becoming the charity’s chief executive in 2004.

With an extensive background in helping children and young people, Lisa drawn on substantial experience and qualifications in the field over the last 23 years.

Her career began in the Women’s Royal Army Corps, based in the UK and Germany. She then held a number of civilian roles, including crime intelligence analyst for the North Yorkshire Police, before returning to Germany to work within the Probation Service and armed forces support charity SSAFA, and British Forces Germany.

While working for the Sussex Autistic Society, she successfully raised funds from various sources including Children in Need and the Big Lottery, some of which funded a youth service for those with Asperger’s syndrome.

Commenting on her appointment, Lodge Hill chairman Richard Evea, the former head teacher of The Angmering School, said: “I am delighted that Lisa is joining us. She has a deep commitment to our work and her fresh ideas and obvious energy will help us develop at the pace needed to meet our rapidly changing environment and the challenges presented through changes in state funding. She is already making a difference.”

Lisa said: “The Lodge Hill job description embodied all I have worked towards throughout my career. I believe much can be achieved here to benefit future generations.

“I am keen to work with all the staff, trustees and supporters of Lodge Hill to build on its unique potential by using the house, its grounds and facilities, at as near full capacity as possible, to support our charitable work with young people and make Lodge Hill even more relevant to today’s society.”

Lisa is a keen hiker and knows West Sussex well.
