Sussex Primark reopening has shoppers queueing for hours

The reopening of one of Sussex’s Primark stores has led to shoppers queueing for hours to get their hands on some bargains.

There were lines around the block when the Primark store in Western Road, Brighton, opened its doors today (June 15) for the first time since lockdown was announced on March 23. In the city centre, queues could also be seen outside H&M in Western Road, Brighton. Across the county, shoppers turned up to visit certain stores, such as Sports Direct, which has 50 per cent off for NHS workers today. But the high streets were largely quiet - in line with predictions from commentators that many would avoid shopping at non-essential stores for health reasons or due to the new social distancing rules retailers have introduced.
