Photospecial: A drone's eye view of Brighton and Hove

Eddie Mitchell has been a professional photographer for 15 years; his photographs regularly appear in national newspapers and on television.

Today, he is keeping ahead of the game - thanks to his investment in the technology of drones: remotely-piloted aircraft.

From 300 feet above the beaches, parks, and streets of Brighton and Hove, he has captured these stunning images of city landmarks, as you have never seen them before.

He had to spend six months training before qualifying as a drone pilot with the Civil Aviation Authority.

When his devices are up in the air - obeying strict regulations about when and where to fly - Eddie can see the images taken on a Go-Pro camera through a screen - while he stands on the ground.

The drones are always within his sight. But that does not mean there are no risks. There is always the weather, a bird strike, or power failure to worry about.
