PICTURES: Thousands flock to Hastings Town and Country Show

More than 5,000 visitors flocked to the stunning grounds of Alexandra Park, Hastings last weekend (June 4-5) to enjoy two days of family fun at the 8th annual Hastings Town and Country Show.

Mayor of Hastings Cllr Judy Rogers officially opened the show and a spokesman for event organisers Oakleigh Fairs said whatever your interests they endeavoured to make sure there really was something for everyone.

The spokesman said: “More than 5,000 people enjoyed family entertainment including birds of prey, children’s entertainment with Banana Brain, The Dog and Duck Show, Terrier Racing, The Goat Show, historical re-enactment with the Company of 1415, as well as arts, crafts, gifts and food marquees.

“Other free demonstrations from stick furniture making, pole latheing and basket making as well as sampling and buying in our Arts, Crafts and Gifts marquees as well as Lifestyle and Food Stalls.

“On Sunday we were proud to host the Companion Dog Show - with all proceeds from entries going to Marie Curie, so a great way to support all of the great work the charity does locally.”

“We would like to offer our formal thanks to the Mayor of Hastings and her team for fitting us into what must be a very busy official calendar.

“We are always delighted to return to Alexandra Park every year and this year it was looking particularly beautiful.
