Police out in force ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion v Crystal Palace

There was an increased police presence in Brighton ahead of the ‘M23 derby’ match at the Amex this evening (December 4).

The game between Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace kicks off at 7.45pm.

A number of officers and police horses were spotted by Brighton railway station this afternoon, with the number of police set to grow this evening.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Barry of Sussex Police said: “There will be an increased police presence around the ground, in the city and in neighbouring towns.

“Security within the ground remains the responsibility of the club, supported by us.

“As with all matches, Sussex Police has been working with partners, including the Albion, British Transport Police and other emergency services colleagues and we are looking forward to a safe and enjoyable match for everyone attending.”
