Police seek caravan-towing car after Fishbourne accident

A CYCLIST was thrown from his bike after he was knocked off by a car and caravan in Fishbourne on Sunday (July 19).

Police want to trace the driver of a silver car towing a caravan which collided with a cyclist on the A259 westbound at Fishbourne around 1.50pm.

“The cyclist, a 61-year-old local man, was thrown from his red Freego electric cycle and suffered a cut to the head as the car and caravan overtook him,” said police.

“The car and caravan continued west along the A259, apparently unaware of the contact between caravan and cycle.”

The cyclist was treated at St Richard’s Hospital, in Chichester, but was not detained.

Police want to speak with anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information.
