Beatrice Bass is a Swiss British dual national who grew up in Davos, Switzerland.

She is a liberal internationalist and speaks English, (Swiss) German, and French.

Beatrice graduated with an MA in linguistics and mass communication studies before she pursued a career as a professional musician.

She undertook worldwide touring as a bass player for indie rock, pop, and blues artists (The Wedding Present, Ben Poole Band).

Beatrice recently made a career change into law and is training to become a solicitor, working in commercial dispute resolution specialised in intellectual property rights and data protection.

Beatrice has lived in Brighton and Hove for 16 years and has actively promoted Liberal Democrat values as the chair of the campaigns committee.

She has been passionately campaigning to remain in the EU with monthly EU street stalls and is a regular participant at national anti-Brexit marches.

As a former musician, Beatrice has been working to give a voice to the creative industry, which is currently under-represented in Parliament.

She successfully introduced a new policy at the Liberal Democrat Conference 2019 to protect music venues and is campaigning and has a petition to amend local planning law to avoid further venue closures in Brighton and Hove.

Beatrice is a member of the Liberal Democrats in Business group and works to boost collaboration between

businesses, the public sector, and research.

If elected, she will work to get more capital investment in the city and more active government support for start-ups and SMEs.
