The day was designed to give students an insight into the exciting possibilities of further education and help them take a closer look at their own aspirations in preparation for selecting their own GCSE options.

The day began with a talk from a number of student ambassadors from the college, who discussed the courses they were studying and how they got on them.

These included practical skills such as bandaging and harnessing, along with investigations using real evidence, animal x-rays and animal roaming tracking data.

While these tasks were completed there was an opportunity for the students to observe a dissection lecture taking place.

After lunch the students were able to take part in a practical seminar, they were able to work directly with two young calves.
