Readathon challenge

FORTY pupils of All Saints Primary School, Sidley, set about their Readathon challenge with gusto.

The idea was to see how many books they could read in three weeks and raise money for children's cancer charities. Together they raised a staggering 908.65. A school spokesman said: "Not only does their effort help children with cancer, All Saints School benefits by being able to buy books to the amount of money raised, so nearly 1,000 worth of new reading material will be heading its way into classes to keep the children practising reading ready for the next time.
