Revolution #10 project launched to give disenchanted a voice

The General Election is less than a year away and one local artist is determined to do all he can to tap into locals who are disenchanted with politics.

Joseph Young, who has had work exhibited at Tate Modern and Tate Britain, as well as internationally in New York and Berlin, wants people to submit answers to three questions on a new website.

That site, www.revolution10.uk, launched yesterday as part of the Brighton Digital Festival and the hope is as many people as possible visit to have their say.

Mr Young said: 'I was concerned that people are so disenchanted with our politicians that we are in danger of sleepwalking into very dangerous political waters through apathy and disengagement.

'I created Revolution #10 as way of speaking directly to the public to get their ideas about how to transform the nation. A way for the people to talk back to the politicians.

'I want as many local residents as possible to visit our project website and answer the three questions. Answers will remain anonymous and whilst we welcome political opinions from across the spectrum, we will not publish hate speech or discrimination.'

Brighton-based Mr Young is today (Saturday) installing a sound installation at Bartholomew Square between 11am and 4pm, with a live performance at 1.30pm.
