COFFEE MORNING: Tomorrow, Saturday, there will be A Posh Coffee Morning, in the Church Room at St Mary's Church 10am to noon, in aid of The Leprosy Mission. Bring and Buy, cake stall and cards will also be available.

JUMBLE SALE: Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society will be holding a Jumble Sale tomorrow (Saturday) in the village hall. Doors open at 2pm. Come and pick up a bargain.

FOOTBALL AND SOCIAL CLUB: Tomorrow, Saturday, the first team are at home again with a SCFL Div 1 fixture versus Storrington, 3pm kick-off at the Caburn Ground. Meanwhile, the second team travel to Saltdean Utd for a league fixture, also with a 3pm kick-off and the third team travel to Nutley for their Mid-Sussex league fixture with a 2pm kick-off time. On Thursday evening, 7.30pm for an 8pm start, the regular monthly fun quiz takes place in the bar of the Caburn Pavilion and all are welcome. Teams of four, bring a team or come and make one up on the night, just £1 per player.

ST MARY’S: A memorial service for Robin Norris takes place tomorrow, Satruday, at 3pm and will be followed by refreshments in the church room. A Taize Service takes place on Sunday at 6.30pm. The theme of Opening Doors is followed in this quiet and reflective service to which all are welcome to explore a different style of worship. At the start of National Marriage Week, St Mary’s invites all couples to a special Marriage Thanksgiving Service on Sunday February 7 at 6.30pm. Whether you have been married for 5 years, 50 years, or you are preparing for marriage, please come along and be part of the celebrations. BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday January 20, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Joan Evett and Deirdre Booth; 3, Leslie Durrant and David Warner. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

VACANCY: Ringmer Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Finance and General Administrator to the Clerk and Council for 16 hours per week. FLOWER CLUB: The club meets next in the village hall at 2pm on Wednesday. Andrew Stephenson-Clarke will be giving an illustrated talk on Borde Hill house and gardens. Visitors are very welcome (£4 to include refreshments). The competition for members is Spring has Sprung.
