Road changes planned ahead of new Chichester Sainsbury’s

The old home of the Observer will reopen next year as a convenience store from the national supermarket chain.
The stretch of road where The Hornet, St Pancras, Market Avenue and East Street converge is notoriously tricky, with cars frequently changing lanes as they swing around Unicorn House.

Hide AdAccording to traffic regulation orders put forward by the West Sussex County Council, the existing puffin crossing opposite the Eastgate pub will be moved westwards towards Market Avenue.
In addition, a new loading bay looks likely to be built in St Pancras for lorries making drop-offs at Sainsbury’s.
The latest planning application for signs on the building shows a new doorway built at Unicorn House facing down East Street and an ATM machine built where the old entrance was.
