Robertsbridge

Exhibition: Robertsbridge Arts and Crafts Exhibition is taking place this weekend. It is being held at the Church Room in Fair Lane and is open from 10am–4pm. It is well worth a visit, with many genres being exhibited. Local artists will be displaying painting, photography, pottery, jewellery and much more. Admission is free.

Barbecue: Sunday 24th August, starting at 7pm, there will be a barbecue with live music being held at the Church Room. Admission for this is £8 for adults and £4 for under 14s. The profits from this evening will go towards the Church Room ongoing repairs. Bring your own bottle and money to buy raffle tickets. This should be a great evening.

Recycling: I have been praising the new refuse/recycling collection service over the last few weeks because I have had no problems and things have gone smoothly. I get an email alert each week to remind me of which bin is being collected which certainly makes life easier. However I understand that not everyone is being as lucky and there are some households that are still not having their recycling collected, even after phone calls to the council each time a collection is missed. If you have a missed collection please report this either by going on to the Rother District Council website or by ringing 01424 787000 before 5pm on the next working day following the scheduled collection. This should work, but has not for some. If this is the case try contacting your local councillor for assistance. This Monday is Bank Holiday but my Alert tells me that it is brown garden waste bin and green recycling bin as usual.
