Rotarians want help to spend money donated by residents

IDEAS for spending almost £6,500 are being sought by Bognor Hotham Rotary Club members.

The sum was raised by the Rotarians with their most recent festive events.

The club staged a series of visits around the town with an illuminated sleigh and also put on static displays at Tesco in Shripney Road and Rose Green. The total raised came to £6,438.92.

Club press officer John Holman said: “As always, young and old welcomed Father Christmas and his helpers wherever they went through the streets of Bognor.

“All the money raised is ring-fenced for local charities and good works, so if a reader knows of a deserving cause that would benefit from some funding, please get in touch with a letter of explanation.

“Correspondence should be sent to Stuart Hutchison, Community Service Chairman, Bognor Hotham Rotary Club, c/o The Royal Hotel, The Esplanade, Bognor Regis.”

An internal Christmas card delivery scheme for the convenience of Rotary members raised a further £133 for the Rotary Foundation’s work to wipe out polio.

A gala dinner for Children In Need also raised more than £800 for that worthy cause.
