Shoreham man prepares for Scottish wall walk

SHOREHAM man Andy Stevenson is preparing for an 84-mile walk '“ along the length of Hadrian's Wall.

The walk is expected to take six days from Saturday, May 26, and Andy hopes to raise more than 1,000 for the Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) charity.

Andy, 42, of Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, became involved with the charity three years ago, when his mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

He said he was looking forward to the challenge, adding: "There was a programme on the television the other week about Hadrian's Wall. The scenery and the countryside were so stunning. I have never been before '“ hopefully, it won't be too hot."

PDS provides support, advice and information to people with Parkinson's, their carers, families and friends, and to health and social services professionals involved in management and care.

Last year, the society spent more than 3.4million on funding research into the cause, cure and prevention of Parkinson's, and improvements in available treatments.
