"The closure of this post office will undoubtedly have an impact on the local village and cause increased travelling to the nearest alternative post office, which means crossing two busy major roads '“ the A29 and A27.

"For those without their own transport, it will become very difficult to access a local post office."

Cllr Deborah Urquhart (Angmering) stated she was concerned at the short time allowed by the Post Office Ltd for public comments about the closure proposal.

She urged anyone with an opinion about the closure to contact her on 01903 871316 or deborah. [email protected] or Cllr Whittington on [email protected] or 01243 551840.

Comments should be made by November 30.

They will be considered when the county council makes its overall response to the plan by the December 24 deadline.
