SOCIETY'S BIG NIGHT

Local societies and clubs spent hours gearing up for the event, constructing and decorating floats.

Eight decorated floats took the route around the village and there were 18 visiting societies.

The beacon was lit at the recreation ground where it could be seen for miles and a stunning fireworks display rounded off a memorable evening.

Rotherfield Scout Group worked hard selling hot dogs and drinks to raise money for its hut that is due for repair.

Visiting societies included Uckfield, Lewes, Firle, Mayfield, Maresfield, Fletching, East Hoathly and Halland and Hailsham.
