Speed trials set to return to Brighton seafront

Brighton's popular annual motor sport event, The Brighton National Speed Trials, will return to the seafront again this year on Saturday, September 1.

The timed sprint event, which is sponsored by Frosts Cars, is one of the seafront’s most action-packed events.

It will see around 200 cars and motor bikes take the timed run down Brighton seafront.

Len Wooller, chairman of Brighton and Hove Motor Club, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response already this year with a diverse range of vehicles entering.

"Spectators will see a whole host of cars and bikes from the ultra-modern to the old classics.

"Already lined up is a Lamborghini Coutach, a Ferrari F40, Formula Ford single seaters and an Allard. We will also have a display of cars from Prestige Car Hire including a Lamborghini Haracan, Aston Martin Volante, a Ferrari 488 and a Porsche Turbo S.”

Spectators can watch from the start-line right at the heart of the action. Practice runs start at 8.45am, with timed runs starting at 11.15am.

This year the Brighton Speed Trials will support The Chestnut Tree House Hospice for young children who will be fundraising on the day and running a Scalectric competition.

Entry (including a programme) is £15 or £12 when purchased in advance online.
