State-of-the-art doctors' surgery comes to Bexhill

IT'S catch-up time at Pebsham as the town's most neglected and under-provided estate gets a state-of-the-art new doctors' surgery.

Five doctors from two town practices will share the 1m new development at the bottom of Seabourne Road.

When its minor operations room is fully equipped, the new surgery will be able to offer a range of surgery from the removal of "lumps and bumps" to vasectomies.

The first patients to be seen at the surgery when it opened last Wednesday were amazed at the spaciousness of the new building.

For Dr Yaya Al-Ansary the opening of the surgery is the fulfilment of a campaign which he and then-ward councillor Megan Traice began in 1988 to get modern GP facilities for Pebsham.

Dr Al-Ansary will continue his Buckhurst Road practice. Dr Roger Elias will also continue his Sea Road practice.

Together with partners Dr Raj Sharma, Dr Stephen Southward and Dr Elizabeth Schneider they will be offering Pebsham patients treatment without the need to travel off the estate.
