Sun shines for Sedlescombe Fayre

Sedlescombe enjoyed perfect weather for its Summer Fayre last Saturday when people turned out in force to have fun at the event.

Many of the village groups and charities took part, raising substantial amounts.

Visitors were able to view a selection of classic Triumph cars; make flower arrangements; admire art; drink tea and Pimms; bowl an over; smash crockery and play on a human fruit machine.

The star attraction though was of one of the village geese marking a square and making someone’s day when they won £500.

John Brownsdon had worked tirelessly to ensure all the squares on the cricket area had been sold, the profit going to local charity.

The Grand Draw was well supported by local businesses donating prizes and people buying tickets and raised nearly £800.

The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped out on the day or before.

The main Thanks must go to Peter Anson. Without his commitment to seeing the Fayre return this year the event just would not have happened.

He was supported by Sally Sidgwick, Derek Wright, Brian Croucher, Lindsay Fraser, Michelle Brister and Debra Veitch, who between them organised and co-ordinated the whole event.
