A carpenter put his skills to the test in a bid to win a supercar in a national trade competition.

Darren Dennis, co-owner of Bognor Regis-based Timbtech Carpentry Ltd, was among 50 tradesmen who revved up for the regional heat of the Irwin Challenge which took place at the Chichester Covers store last month.

He will now go through to the final which takes place in Birmingham, where he will be in with a chance of winning a Porsche 911. Marketing coordinator for Covers, Ben Gale said: "Everyone at Covers would just like to wish Darren good luck and we hope to see him back here soon in the Porsche."
