Jacob Riseborough-Court, 11, joined the Summerfields Swim School in 2012 and showed immediate talent and commitment to the programme, says Annie George, Freedom Leisure swim school teacher. “He is the first pupil to have completed every certificate offered and his efforts have also seen him achieve the Complete Swimmer Award, given to pupils who manage to complete all 25 stages, “ she said.

“Jacob is a shining example and shows how children can progress through the entire ASA Pathway at our Swim School. The programme is designed to be accessible and progressive and Jacob has shown how this works in practice. It is not easy to gain all 25 certificates, especially at such a young age. This a huge achievement and Jacob has worked very hard: he certainly deserves recognition for his dedication and effort.”

Matt James, Freedom Leisure centre manager said: “Swimming is important for all children but especially in this area as we live on the coast. “I would hope that Jacob’s achievement will inspire other boys and girls to enrol at our swim school and see how far they can go.”
