Funded by Littlehampton Town Council and supported by a number of organisations across the community, this summer’s event will see a record-breaking 56 activities taking place over the seven days.

And to officially kick-start the programme, there will be a special launch party on Saturday, July 27, at Heo Green.

Families, residents and other fun-lovers from across the area are invited to attend the free event – which is this year being sponsored by Tesco, Broadpiece, Littlehampton – and watch demonstrations as well as try some of the activities on offer during the week.

The party will take place between 2pm and 5pm and will be packed with tasty treats and freshly-cooked food for revellers to sink their teeth into, as well as refreshing drinks, courtesy of the ROC Café Bus.

This year’s festival has been organised in conjunction with the Wick Information Centre, Wick Traders’ Association, Arun Community Church, Project 82, The Keystone Centre, Inspire Leisure, The Littlehampton Academy, New Highfields Residents’ Group, Arun District Council and Age UK West Sussex and looks set to feature a number of family favourites.

Making a welcome return will be the ever-popular Wick’s Got Talent, which will showcase the skills of the area’s youngsters. The talent show will take place on Thursday, August 1, at the Wickbourne Centre, in Clun Road. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7pm.

But it’s not just activities for children that will keep people entertained. There are also plenty of attractions for adults of all ages.

The Littlehampton Patchwork and Quilting Group will be holding a demonstration inside Wick Hall, on Wednesday, July 31, and a class is available at the Wick Information Centre, Wick Street, for over-50s wishing to brush up on their computer skills.

Other events include a quiz, bingo, well-being and health ‘MoT’, Zumba night, and an over-50s smoothie bike display.

A comprehensive list of attractions taking place during this year’s celebrations will be available in next week’s Gazette (Thursday, July 25).
