Transport police hunt train pervert

DETECTIVES hunting a pervert who snapped "indecent pictures" of a teenage girl on a train have appealed to the public for information.

British Transport Police this week released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, whic happened between Hastings and Cooden Beach stations.

The 17-year-old girl boarded an Ore to Brighton service at Hastings station at around 12.30pm on Thursday, 20 May.

A man also entered the carriage and sat opposite her, ignoring plenty of empty seats nearby.

The victim noticed he was trying to take pictures of her underneath the table but was too frightened to move. The man left the train at Cooden Beach station.

Detective Constable Rob Cager, one of the investigating officers, said: "This was a very distressing and intimidating experience for the victim, who was put in a very frightening situation.

"Behaviour such as this is completely unacceptable and we are determined to find whoever is responsible.

"We are making local inquiries into the incident and if you have any information that could help us then I urge you to contact us.

"We also want to hear from anyone who recognises the man pictured in the CCTV images."
