Emergency services tend to one car collision

UPDATE: Two people were taken to hospital last night (Tuesday February 10) after a collision near Henfield.

At about 11pm a man became trapped following a one car collision. Fire crews attended and stabilised the car and released the man.

He and another person were taken to hospital by ambulance and the incident was left with Sussex Police.

A spokesman for South east Coast Ambulance service said: “SECAmb was called shortly before 11pm to this incident in which it was reported a single vehicle was involved. We sent two ambulances and two ambulance cars to the scene and also assigned the air ambulance to attend which it did.

“All crews worked together to treat a woman aged in her 70s and a 19-year-old man. The woman was immobilised for potential injuries and taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital.

“The man was also taken to Royal Sussex suffering from chest and back pain. Both were taken to hospital as priority patients.”
