A new rainbow coloured bench has been installed near a bus shelter in Burgess Hill.

Burgess Hill Town Council funded the bench, which can be found on the south side of Queen Elizabeth Avenue, after a town resident got in touch.

The resident requested seating at the location because they had nowhere to sit while waiting for their bus, a council spokesperson said.

“The Town Council also approached Clear Channel UK, who owns this bus shelter, to enquire if they would install a perch seat at the shelter,” said the spokesperson.

“The company was delighted to support the resident’s request and a perch seat has now been installed.”
