Trial date set for man charged over Storrington Waitrose incident

A trial date has been set for a man charged over an incident at Waitrose in Storrington in April.

Michael Spruhan, 52, of Windmill Copse, Storrington, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and arson with intent to endanger a life.

He pleaded not guilty to both charges at Chichester Crown Court on July 6 and was remanded in custody whilst a date and location for his trial was decided.

Spruhan is now due to appear at Chichester Crown Court on September 2 with a trial date set for September 28.

His appearance follows an incident at the Waitrose store in Storrington on April 29.
