TV'S KADDY OPENS REVAMPED LEISURE CENTRE

TV weather forecaster Kaddy Lee-Preston opened Sussex's first-ever junior gym yesterday, March 28.

The BBC South East Today presenter also officially unveiled a ten-pin bowling centre, soft play and separate toddler area, interactive gameboards and newly-fitted crche on the site of Hailsham's former leisure centre.

The junior gym, which is a new concept in the county, features specially-designed fitness equipment for youngsters between 8-13.

Hailsham Leisure Centre manager Richard Whitling said: 'More than 100 youngsters have already booked induction sessions at the junior gym, the soft play is proving a real hit with our youngest visitors and the 10-pin bowling, with its stunning UV lighting is literally knocking everyone over when they see it.'

Council leader Nigel Coltman added: 'These wonderful new facilities are a testament to the commitment that Freedom Leisure has shown to the local community in continually looking to develop services that meet and exceed the needs and wants of local people.

'The council has supported this venture throughout from the initial vision right through to the launch today and I believe it will bring many people into Hailsham which can only benefit the whole town.'
