UPDATE: Hundreds left without power in Horsham

A fault with an underground electricity cable in Blackbridge Lane, Horsham, left hundreds of homes in the RH12 1 area without power, UK Power Networks has said.

The problem was first reported at around 10.30am.

A spokesman for the electricity provider confirmed 591 properties were affected in the Worthing Road and Jockey Mead area.

Engineers have rerouted electricity supplies while they fix the problem and power was restored to all homes by 11.40am.

The spokesman added: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and reconnected power supplies to customers as quickly as possible.”
