People are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and to arrive early to secure their space.

Cllr Alan Robins, Brighton and Hove City Council’s chair of tourism, development and culture, said: “As far as viewing vistas go, I think watching the Royal Wedding with the beautiful Brighton beach and the West Pier as the backdrop will be hard to beat!

"Fingers crossed for a spot of sunshine, but whatever the weather I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere for everyone joining the celebrations to enjoy.”

The Royal Wedding will also be shown in the British Airways i360 pod and guests will be able to take selfies with a life-size cut-out of the happy couple.
