Watch the birdie - photo competition takes to the wing at Arundel

WATCH the birdie, or any other wildlife, and your photograph could be one of the winners at this year's Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust photography competition.

Sponsored by Nikon, top prizes in the competition include a Nikon D40 digital SLR camera and a digiscoping kit which allows photos to be taken using a telescope.

The competition aims to capture the variety of Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT's) centres and the main rule is that photos must be taken at one of them.

There are three categories '” WWT Nikon Photo of the Year, WWT Nikon Junior Photo of the Year and WWT Nikon Digiscoping Photo of the Year.

Picking the winners will be a judging panel chaired by wildlife photographer Chris Packham.

The judges will be looking for variety, innovation and imagination, as well as technical accomplishment.

Closing date for entries is August 27.
