Woman suffers '˜serious facial injuries' after Brighton assault

Sussex Police said a 24-year-old woman was left with a broken jaw after she was attacked in Little East Streey, Brighton, early on Saturday morning (December 17).

Police believe the victim was assaulted by a group of three or four black men at about 6am. The woman said she remembered walking into Little East Street and then waking up in the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

Detective Sergeant Cheryl Lewendon said: “This was an vicious unprovoked attack and the motive is unclear. The victim has suffered serious facial injuries including two fractures to her jaw and she has undergone surgery to remove two damaged teeth.
