Brighton transfer round-up: Leandro Trossard update; Shane Duffy reveals Lewis Dunk hope

Genk star Leandro Trossard continues to be linked with the club while elsewhere, the future of Albion skipper Lewis Dunk continues to be up for discussion.

What’s the Trossard latest?

Reports in Belgium have claimed the 24-year-old is open to joining Albion. Genk are understood to want 20 million euros for the winger who guided them to the top flight title in Belgium by netting 14 goals and seven assists.

Arsenal have also been linked with Trossard, though Albion appear to be in pole position and remain in talks with Genk over his signature.

Will Dunk leave?

The future of Dunk has been discussed a lot since the season ended. The England international has been linked with a move away from the Amex to Leicester if Harry Maguire leaves for Manchester United, but defensive partner Shane Duffy certainly hopes he can continue to develop their understanding next season.

Duffy told the club’s website: “Playing alongside Dunky is just so natural now as we’ve been partners on the pitch for a lot of games, but credit also has to go down to the full-backs, the keeper and everyone in the team, who do a lot to help protect us.

“As a partnership we’re always trying to improve; we’re two years older now, we’re more experienced and with more games against the top players, which helps.”

Any other business?

Brighton defender Leon Balogun revealed he has had some personal training to ensure he got up to speed for Nigeria’s 2019 African Cup of Nations campaign which kicks off on Saturday evening.

Balogun, whose Nigeria side begin their group stage with a game against Burundi, said: “After the last game of the season with Brighton I went on a little sightseeing tour for a few days to New York, since then it’s just been training.

“I went back to Berlin and had some personal training, and then met up with the national squad on the 2nd June.”
