Nothing between top four

Paul Lindfield believes there is little to choose between the leading contenders in Division Three (East) of the Sussex Cricket League.

The Crowhurst Park skipper said: “The league is very tight in that top four. I don’t believe anyone up there is going to run away with it.”

The league stats would certainly seem to back up this view because just 15 points cover the leading quartet after seven rounds of fixtures.

Park sit third - nine points off the summit - after last week’s narrow defeat against Lewes Priory, who have moved up to second behind early pace-setters Crawley.

“It was one of those games where we went for it and towards the end we could have won, could have lost, could have won and then lost it,” Lindfield explained.

Park are on their travels tomorrow (Saturday) with a trip to second-from-bottom Lindfield. In-form batsman Dale Bryant, who injured his hamstring while going for a catch against Lewes, is a doubt and Nick Taylor is unavailable.
