Dunk hopes Brighton can crawl over the line to safety

The Seagulls are four points above Cardiff with two games remaining, with the Bluebirds currently occupying the final relegation spot.

Dunk admits it doesn’t matter how the Seagulls stay in the league, whether Albion do it themselves or Cardiff lose to Crystal Palace or Manchester United in their remaining fixtures but said: “Obviously, it would be a better way to do it (on our own terms) but we’ll take any way right now.

“We’re crawling over the line and hopefully we crawl over that line and stay in the Premier League but right now it doesn’t matter how we stay in the league, if they (Cardiff) do us a favour then we’ll take it.”

Dunk will have fond memories of playing against Arsenal, with the home fixture last season marking his first Premier League goal.

On the upcoming game, he said: “We never know what happens in football. Any team can win. It’s 11 players out on the pitch and if one team turns up and the other team doesn’t then that team wins so we’ve got two massive games to do that.

“We’ve got one away at Arsenal which is going to be tough and we’ve got Manchester City at home in front of our fans for the last game of the season. It’s still in our hands and we’re four points clear now with two games to go so we’re in an okay position.”
