EP win at Sidley

EAST PRESTON Football Club recorded their second win on the bounce with a 2-0 victory at Sidley on Wednesday.

In a bright opening period, EP took the lead after just six minutes. James Rhodes raced onto Des Guile's through ball and was tripped in the penalty area. Phil Churchill struck from the penalty spot for his 14th goal of the season.

Sonny Banks and Kevin Budge both went close to a second before half-time.

EP keeper Tom Rand had just one save to make in the first-half when an effort from close-range hit him in the face.

Playing up a tiny slope in the second half, EP comfortably dealt with Sidley's long balls forward and looked dangerous on the break. After a foul on Banks, Churchill had a chance to net his second penalty but he was denied by Sidley's keeper.

Dan White and Budge also went close before EP sealed the win with five munutes to go. Rhodes' effort was parried and Dan White knocked home the rebound.
