Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton does not believe Liverpool will be weakened by having three central defenders ruled out of tomorrow's match at the Amex.

Liverpool defenders Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren are all set to miss the Premier League match, so midfielder Fabinho could partner Virgil van Dijk in central defence.

Hughton was asked in his pre-match press conference if Liverpool would be weakened by having the defensive trio out and said: "I don't think it does because of the quality they have got.

"As with every club, you have your recognised players in that position and those that you see as your first choices and second choices generally.

"With the game they play, they are very much a possession-based team, great counter-attacking strength and pace, and they would probably see themselves as having the bulk of possession.

"They have maneuvered players from one position into another and they have done an equally good job."
