The 37-year-old was part of the commentary team on BBC Sussex last night and confirmed he has now retired, after playing for Blackburn and Kilmarnock following his spell with Albion.

Greer, who won 11 caps for Scotland, said: "I'm done.

"I still feel physically quite fit but maybe the hunger's gone a bit."

Greer also spoke on the pitch at half-time and said: "I retired a couple of months back. I'd had enough travelling and being shouted at by managers and shouting at referees.

"It's a bit more time with the family now but I'm looking to get back into football and I'd love to get in the media."
