Stephens was named in the starting line-up for Saturday's 0-0 Premier League draw with Watford but had to pull out in the warm-up with a hip injury.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Brighton boss Chris Hughton said: "At the moment we're not too bad. Dale was very close on Saturday and pulled out in the warm-up.

"He's a lot better today, whether he'll be available for Wednesday at the moment probably not.

"We'll determine whether we risk him or not tomorrow and Izquierdo is still out."

Hughton also confirmed winger Iran Jahanbakhsh will start the match at the Hawthorns, along with defender Dan Burn.

Left-back Bernardo is also back available after a hamstring injury.
