Seagulls complete the signing of Paddy McCourt, the Northern Ireland international.
Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the signing of Paddy McCourt, the Northern Ireland international, on a one-year deal.
The 30-year-old former Barnsley, Celtic and Derry City midfielder joins Albion after passing a medical, following a trial period that began last week.
Sami Hyypiä said, "We have seen enough of Paddy in the last week or so to know that he is a player who has quality going forward; he is the type of player who can pick a pass and create a chance.
"Paddy is a player who sees the right passes, at the right time, and I hope he can help us in terms of creativity going forward and to help make some chances for us.
"He knows the Championship, having spent last season at this level with Barnsley, so he knows what to expect from this league - and he also brings additional experience to the squad."
McCourt made 23 appearances for Barnsley last season, scoring twice - including an outstanding performance at the Amex when the then-managerless Barnsley beat Albion 2-0.
The Northern Irishman had previously spent five years at Celtic, having moved to Parkhead from Derry City. He played 89 times for Celtic, scoring 10 goals.
McCourt will wear squad number 20 for the Albion.
