The Foxes are set to rekindle their interest in Bournemouth's classy defender Nathan Ake and Burnley's James Tarkowski in the new year. City made an unsuccessful bid for Tarkowski in the summer.

The Dutchman joined the Cherries for £20m from the Blues in 2017 but Chelsea scout Piet de Visser wants him back at the Bridge. “Ake should have played for Chelsea. He’s so good," de Visser said.

There also appears to be little let-up in the James Maddison to Manchester United link. The Athletic website claims the 22-year-old will be heading to Old Trafford shortly. The report states, good relations between United’s chief executive and his Foxes counterpart Susan Whelan will help conclude the deal.
